Our Team

Dr. Sarah Kuipers is a third-generation eye care professional. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry and returned to Rapid City, SD, in 2016.

Dr. Kuipers is passionate about patient education, believing that understanding eye health is key to effective care. She takes the time to thoroughly explain conditions and answer questions, empowering patients to be active participants in their healthcare. She also collaborates with primary care doctors and specialists to coordinate care for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Her clinical passion lies in the treatment and management of dry eye disease.

In addition to her practice, Dr. Kuipers serves on the board of directors for LifeSight, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing eye care services to underserved populations in the Black Hills.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is committed to making quality eye care accessible to all. Outside of work, Dr. Kuipers and her husband stay busy with their three children—whether chasing after them or tackling home remodeling projects, often both at the same time!
